I have been spending a lot of time working on my blender skills. I have come to the conclusion that if I really want to run rippin graphics software I am going to have to sit down and digest the meat and potatoes of a Linux distro. The last time I took a run at this I was heavy into booze and drugs, that compounded by a rage'n case of ADD, left me a slave to cooperate operating systems. Among other things, 'nuf said.

Well gone are the days when installing a Linux distro on your machine left you with a project only super geeks could fathom.

“Look the new gui is ugly and I can't figure out how to install any software. Sweet!”

Most of what you need to know can now be found online. I chose Ubuntu for my machine. Mainly because it looked hip, and four out of five tech-geek bloggers said even a complete idiot could make it work.

I put it on my laptop. I wouldn't recommend this unless you have a lot of time on your hands....., or you are smart enough to check the HCL provided by most distros BEFORE installing.

All things considered Ubuntu runs fair out of the box. I have spent about the same amount of time chasing down drivers as I would usually spend cleaning up and patching a new Windows install. The only big problems I have run into are with my ATI graphics card and my Wacom tablet. Which since I started this endeavor to run graphics software is kind of a big deal.

If you know of a fix for either problem contact me and let me know k.

Thank You in advance....

I am going to install Ubuntu on my desktop and try to resolve a few of the issues there first. I'll let you know how it goes.

like the new look very minimalist(heh)
I will be adding more as the mood hits.  Nothing new artistically speaking.  Still working on learning blender should be posting some 3d models shortly. (oh be still my beating heart.)  Spending too much time jacked in ( reading Neuromancer…) to the net lately.  Sketching self portrait of me being sucked in to my laptop. Will have it posted here soon if not then on dA

Saw the most amazing piece of animation on youtube yesterday.  It is called Ryan check it out it is a mind blower.   The film deals with the tragic loss of creativity orbited gently by undertones of addiction, and self loathing.  (Have they been reading my mail?) The film ends with this crazy peaceful air that made total sense to me.  Super inspirational……..

My first page broke in too many browsers so I have revamped this older template for my purposes today.  I am writing a new one specifically for this site but it may be a few days (or weeks) before I get it done.

" So Many Social engagements so little time"

I get to spend the next few days with my kids so that rocks.   If the weather holds  I shouldn't  have time to write code.

Get  off the machine!!!

Hope to fish and play for the next two.

                       Shoot pictures too.

not sure where to go to......(Sorry I am a dork)

Looking forward to TaeKwon-do tonight.  I have been doing that with Aaron and Paige it is a blast.  Helping get me back into shape.

Fun Fun.  :)

Don't know if emos work in Joomla.  Quick write a mod so I can smile.....

Hold on... Cool   this editor has a few...

O.K. if this site looks like total garbage, rather than say  mainly garbage chances are you are viewing it with a version of IE.  I haven't had time to write all the workarounds and extra code so this thing looks good in IE.

Yeah I know it is the worlds most common browser but not by much.

They say IE8 will be more compatible with css it must be true after all why would MS lie to us.

They even have a whole page on how groovy IE8 will work with css.  If you want to look at it however use Firefox or IE7, the page breaks in IE8 beta.   </rant>

You can use the down load link in the resource section of this page or you can press this LINK to get Firefox for free!

Thank you for your support.
